Everything Is Going Down, But The Word Of God……Well, the Church Of God In Christ Spring Call Meeting of the General Assembly session ended Thursday. As my good snitches that are members of my Obnoxious Street Committee have informed me not a great deal went on today. However, the curve ball was thrown. Now with the Grand Old Church you always have to watch for the curve. It seems that individuals that were licensed credential holders (church leadership, Bishops, Supervisors, Pastors, Elders, and Missionaries) were not going to to have to be background checked or have to take an online sexual harassment course. Only the folks form 1213 and beyond would have to go through the process. Well, just like they said we would leave Memphis for one year for the Holy Convocation the same stands for the course. Everyone is now required to take the course. Word is that a number of the women had objection to it due to no reports of sexual scandals among them. At least not any we know about as of yet. The argument is that they are not ordained and therefore should not be required to go thought the same process as the men. Needless to say they wasted their time and breath.

Word is that Quitenton Fortson (pictured above) held the General Assebly hostage as he objected to Bishop Enoch Perry being allowed to run against his father Bishop Paul Fortson in November the Holy Convocation to get back on the Judiciary Board.

It seems that Bishop Enoch Perry, former General Counsel for the church, was removed from the board due the seat he held was for a jurisdictional bishop. Now he has been given the Ivory Coast it will allow him to run again in November at the Holy Convocation since a jurisdiction was created for him.

Bishop Jesse Delano Ellis was the subject of great conversation! The Presiding Bishop attempted to make Ellis the head of COGIC Chaplains Worldwide and the letters had already gone out form the national church to all of the armed forces stating he was the new man in charge, but not just so fast. Bishop Charles Edward Blake removed Bishop Samuel Morgan, who has held the position for many years. Well, the General Assembly never got to vote to approve Ellis or not. Chairman Hunt called for the question and Elder Jimerson of Mississippi stood in strong opposition and challenged that Bishop Ellis did not have an earned Ph.D. Additionally, some else had the manual from the organization Ellis presides over and read where their beliefs and doctrine is different from the Church Of God In Christ. The conversation got so heated that it was tabled until November.
Now time for the good part. Everyone is becoming a bishop these days. I see why Bishop Patterson placed a moratorium on consecrating Auxiliary Bishops. Everyone is going to be a Bishop in COGIC now including Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck! All jokes aside a list of 17 names were called and only two will have actual jurisdictions. Please bare with me do to my details are still coming in, but for now I have 10 of the 17 names and they are the following:

An auxiliary bishop, in the Roman Catholic Church, is an additional bishop assigned to a diocese because the diocesan bishop is unable to perform his functions, the diocese is so extensive that it requires more than one bishop to administer, or the diocese is attached to a royal or imperial office needing the diocesan bishop’s protracted location at court. According to canon law, no bishop can be ordained without title to a certain and distinct episcopal see which he governs either actually or potentially, therefore auxiliary bishops are titular bishops to sees that no longer exist.
Canon law requires that the diocesan bishop appoints each auxiliary bishop as vicar general or episcopal vicar of the diocese.
It I suppose to mean the same in COGIC, but was often given to celebrate elder statesmen of the the church that had served and never had the opportunity to become a jurisdictional bishop. Now it seems to somewhat mean the same and also to give some additional clout to meet in national positions.
