Well, a weekend of fun and celebration goes terribly wrong! Atlanta Pride is one of the most looked forward to and highly anticipated events in the United States for black gay men that out or PJDs (Pineapple Juice Drinker, Obnoxious word for on the Down Low) but for some the experience of Pride turned sour when 21 year old Henry Lee better known as Amar’e Lee drowned at a popular Atlanta Pride Pool Party. If he was not out in life he surly has been outed in his death.
Lee (shown in picture above) posted this picture with the caption “goodmorning woke up with a hangover Lol the turn up was real let’s do it again tonight!!!” on August 30th. Sources say that at the pool party, someone slipped the drug Phencyclidine (PCP) into his drink. It was then noted that he got into the pool and never resurfaced. It took attendees approx. 15mins to notice Lee at the bottom of the pool and attempt to save him. There are tons of questions including, How could someone who is 6′ 5″ drown in 5 ft of water? others are still speculating on what really happen to Lee.

Amar’e boyfrined took to facebook to express his sorrow about the passing of his love.
” RIP Amar’e Lee !
You meant the world to me. I’m so in shocked just when things was getting right you leave me like this I love you sooooo much Henry Lee Jr. Nobody can never take that away. You are & will always be everything to me. You are that guy I always wanted to spend the rest of my life with. 😋
I LOVE YOU BAE !”
And also said, “My boyfriend/lover/bestfriend Amar’e Lee is gone Whyyyy Jesus”
We want to send our deepest and most heartfelt sympathy to the family and friends of Amar’e Lee and wish you comfort and peace in the days to come

East Point Police are investigating a suspicious hotel pool party death.
Henry Lee, 21, of Arkansas died.
His friends told Channel 2’s he was in town for Labor Day weekend to celebrate Black Gay Pride weekend in Atlanta.
According to a police report, partygoers pulled an unresponsive Lee from the pool at Holiday Inn and Suites on Virginia Avenue on Aug. 30 around 9 p.m.
Emergency responders rushed Lee to the hospital. He died a few days later.
Detectives are investigating whether someone slipped something into Lee’s drink.
A representative from the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office said the agency is awaiting toxicity results before they can rule on a cause of death.
That information should be available in two to three weeks.
Byfield found hotel officials are sorting through their own investigation.
The hotel’s general manager would not get into specifics but said like everyone else, they want to know why Lee drowned.
