Just a week removed form the Grand Jury decision not to indict Darren Wilson and the protest in St. Louis continues. It makes me pound to know that one gentlemen has stepped out of his pulpit and has been on the front line leading protest and fighting for justice. The struggle continues! Much respect to Bishop Demond who was arrested today for shutting down malls and fighting for justice. Read his Facebook post below and share them to keep everyone updated on the protest in Ferguson!
Bishop D Demond wrote: “WOW is all I can say, Let me begin by thanking God and the people who trusted me, When Mike Brown was killed, I had NEVER thought in a million years I would become a Trust Activist for JUSTICE, WELL THAT”S MY NICK NAME NOW! I uses to believe that if you was a Pastor you have to stay in that lane, well if you’re a leader you required to be involved with your community issues! Over the past 82 hours we’ve been going none stop with our Economic $hut-down, we went throughout the St Louis Region to 6 Malls, 4 Wal-marts and 3 Targets! WE had from 100 to 800 ppl at every meeting place to it was AWESOME! That’s how we get change in our COMMUNITY, STOP THE MONEY! WE DEMAND JUSTICE AND CHANGE! They closed every location 3+plus hours before regular time! Throughout the Metro Area their were about 6Millions +Dollars loss in Sales over the weekend. “Got a Call from one of our Executive State Governmental Official, Call me and said what we have to do to get you all out the stores, I stated Lock-up Darren Wilson”! We appreciate everywhere we went the cops allowed us to protect peacefully throughout the stores and malls! “BLACK LIVES MATTER, ALL LIVES MATTER”! I also appreciate all the White and Black Pastors AS WELL we all races of people who supported, it made an awesome statement! #FERGUSON #FERGSHUTDOWN”
REPOST: Darren Wilson was paid for 3 months just to hide and is now a married millionaire with a child. I’m sure he will be ok. Furthermore, I’m tired of seeing my white friends only posting pictures of Dr. King and saying that protest needs to be more like that. The reality is that not all protest during Dr. King era was peaceful And some whites were just as angry then about even the peaceful protesting because of the inconvenience and that they hated what Dr. King stood for. Hence, he was killed. Not making excuses for the looting and rioting, just tired of people using selective images of Dr. King, as if he wasn’t being met with the same resistance that exist today. Also, think of other examples besides only MLK. Their were other strong black leaders in addition to MLK that history books shield you from. Ok I’m done. **drops mic #FERGSHUTDOWN
FYI: Witnesses in the Michael Brown case feared that they would face reprisals for their testimony. The KKK had made threats and several witnesses testified that they were afraid to speak to the local police. Now we learn that one of the witnesses Deandre Joshua was shot in the head, set on fire and found in his car the morning after the riots. There is now a Twitter conversation that is calling for the arrest of the witnesses Dorian Johnson and Piaget Crenshaw. My fear is that we will find both of these witnesses dead somewhere or to intimidated to testify. If this happens, any further legal prosecution of Darren Wilson could be impaired, they are being targeted for a reason people. The witnesses must be protected…please share this message. #FERGSHUTDOWN
