In the wake of a Sanford, Florida jury finding George Zimmerman not guilty for his killing of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin, his brother Robert Zimmerman Jr. appeared on CNN’s “Piers Morgan Live.”
He was asked to describe his brother George’s reaction to the verdict:
“He is still processing the reality or notion of being a free man, of having what the judge described as no further business before the court.”
Zimmerman Jr. told Piers Morgan that despite hearing the words ‘not guilty’ Saturday night, his brother will be looking over his shoulder for the rest of his life.
“There are factions, there are groups, there are people that would want to take the law into their own hands as they perceive it, or be vigilante’s in some sense,” he told Morgan during the live interview. “They think that justice was not served, they won’t respect the verdict no matter how it was reached and they will always present a threat to George and his family.”
And then there was this a-hole comment from Robert Zimmerman Jr:
“I want to know if it’s true, and I don’t know if it’s true, that Trayvon Martin was looking to procure firearms, or growing marijuana, or looking to make lean,” he told Piers Morgan and Don Lemon.
He also told Morgan about George Zimmerman’s mentoring of two young black children, and how committed he is, and remains, to public service.
